Military families living in privatized housing may soon get more protections when facing problems with persistent mold, rodent infestation, water leaks and other problems. Two efforts underway - both inside the Pentagon and on Capitol Hill - would require installation commanders to withhold the service members' rent payments to the corporations that own the military's privatized housing if the military families have complained of potential health, safety or environmental hazards and those complaints go unaddressed.
