But for many students, one of their most memorable flight experiences is fly "Panchito," a World War II-vintage B-25J Mitchell medium bomber, courtesy of the Delaware Aviation Museum. For 16 years, Larry Kelley, Panchito's owner and the museum's executive director, has been visiting Patuxent River twice a year to allow test pilot school students to take turns flying the aircraft in a variety of configurations. Kelley said that Panchito allows students to grapple with handling characteristics that are dramatically different from other types of aircraft.
