A revolutionary philosopher of science

Thomas S. Kuhn, who died on 17 June aged 73, Is best known for introducing the principles of 'paradigms' and 'incommensurability' into the study of science. The Influence of his work, however, goes beyond such slogans. Together with Karl Popper, who died in 1994, Thomas Kuhn has been the most influential philosopher of science in recent history. His main opus, The Structure of Scientific Revolutions (1962), has been translated into 25 languages, and the English edition alone sold over a million copies.
