More than 100 streams run through Bradley Cardinale's laboratory. Some trickle, others gush. Some are home to one species of freshwater algae, others to eight. And they were all created to answer a simple ecological question.rnCardinale wants to know how the number of species living in a stream affects the quality of water that flows through it.
