Moving forward with biofuels

摘要

The major source of energy for the Earth, now and in the future, is the Sun. Fossil fuels are the products of energy captured from the Sun by photosynthesis in organisms of past eras. If we are to meet the growing demands of human societies and sustain a healthy environment we must urgently maximize energy capture, using the most efficient plant systems throughout agriculture, for a huge plethora of uses including making fuels.
