INTERSPECIFIC ASSOCIATION AND COVARIATION AMONG NET-ZOOPLANKTON IN SOME PONDS OF COAL MINING AREAS OF JHARKHAND

摘要

Present paper deals with the interspecific association and covariation among 27 zooplankton species found in ten ponds situated in the five coal mining areas of Jharkhand. Although on the basis of presence and absence data many significant associations have been detected but on the basis of abundance data only eight positive significant results have been found. Habitat similarity index was determined by Chord distance and result shows that the adjacent water bodies have more similarities in terms of zooplankton diversity.
