Dismounted combat is a component of the land forces whose importance is continuously with every engagement in which French or allied infantrymen (and women) currently participate. Over the past 15 years, the main scenarios for the employment of land forces have evolved from massive engagements at our borders between conventional armies towards a selective use of coercion assets.
