Two recent currents affecting wetlands have been gaining momentum during the past months. First, the federal government enacted the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in February, providing a significant splash of funding to stimulate the economy. Second, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson offered her support for legislative action to address the jurisdictional challenges that have hampered federal enforcement of the Clean Water Act. Both promise an upswell in wedand protection over the next few years.
