The Victorian County Court has fined a Port Melbourne go-kart company $1.4 million following the death of a customer in a go karting accident three years ago.rnIt is the highest ever fine under Victoria's Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004.rnIn October 2006, 51-year-old Lydia Carter and her work colleagues were attending a social function at AAA Auscarts Pty Ltd.rnShe was driving her cart "slowly" around a corner when it struck a barrier made from tyres, causing her whiplash. She sustained a fractured skull and died as a result.
