As the nation waited patiently last month for a decision about who would govern Australia, a number of interesting factors were at play - some of which could apply to the workplace.rnFirst, the three rural Independents who, until recently, had relatively little influence over the Federal Parliament were suddenly in key decision-making roles. Second, these Independents didn't rush into decision-making: they requested detail so they could analyse the situation properly before negotiating new and, some would say, bold initiatives to change 'the way we do things around here'.
