Oregon National Guard Begins Historic Partnership With Vietnam

Two men who fought on opposite sides of the Vietnam War finalized an agreement last month that begins a new era in relations between the United States and its former adversary. Maj. Gen. Raymond F. Rees, the Oregon adjutant general, and Lt. Gen. Tran Quang Khue, the vice chairman of Vietnam's National Committee for Search and Rescue, signed a pact in Hanoi on Nov. 27 that links Oregon and Vietnam in the Guard's State Partnership Program.
