2018 MUFON Field Investigator Boot Camp

Recognizing the ongoing need for properly trained field investigators, Arizona MUFON contacted MUFON HQ with the suggestion of offering advanced training to existing and prospective field investigators. MUFON HQ agreed and the 2018 MUFON Field Investigator Boot Camp was born, with Arizona MUFON hosting the event in Mesa. State Director Jim Mann and ASD Stacey Wright immediately went to work creating the agenda for November 2-4 and lining up presenters for the boot camp. Members seeking the advanced training rapidly responded, and the boot camp quickly filled to maximum capacity. The boot camp began with a meet-n-greet Friday evening at a sports bar next to the host hotel. With good food and drink in abundance, the 35 attendees gathered with the presenters and organizers; friendships were forged that first night as the group learned names and originating cities/ countries of the participants. Fun was had by all! Saturday's activities opened with a welcoming introduction by Stacey Wright, the coordinator of the event. Jim Mann followed with a short discussion of the role of MUFON and an explanation of the Case Management System (CMS) and how it documents the field investigation.
