The Contactee movement: Not what it seems to be?

One of the strangest, and certainly most controversial, theories postulated to explain the tales of such famous Con-tactees as George Adamski, George Van Tassel and their ilk suggests they were the unwitting players in a Top Secret Kremlin plot designed to make the United States believe that outer-space was populated by civilizations of a distinctly communist nature. Notably, dark tales of communist links to the early Contactees did indeed proliferate when the Contactee movement was at its height. This was definitely something of concern to a Yucca Valley resident who, on August 5, 1954, wrote to the FBI suggesting that George Van Tassel - of Giant Rock fame - should be investigated to determine if he was working as a Soviet spy.
