Nearby is the ancient village of But-ley, the origins of which date back to the 1100s. Also close by is Ipswich, a town that began to take shape in Anglo-Saxon times: the 7th and 8th Centuries A.D. And, of course, Rendlesham Forest was the site of Britain's most famous UFO encounter.
