For northern hemisphere observers Mercury will begin the month standing above the west-southwest horizon at sunset and will set below the western horizon about 1 1/2 hours later; Mercury will sink into the glare of the setting Sun by the second week but will reappear in the eastern morning sky shortly after the second week.
