The offshore wind industry is growing steadily, with the prospect of many gigawatts of power coming on-stream in the next few years in various parts of the world. However, implementation costs remain high, due in large part to the complex offshore operations required to assemble these large structures at sea. Technical difficulties related to scouring and geotechni-cal uncertainties add to the complexity of such large-scale development.
