The trend toward renewables and electrification of transportation are considered keys in fighting climate change. The shift is being seen in the maritime sector, especially with the advances in plug-in ferries in Scandinavia. Washington State Ferries (WSF), author Eben Phillips' employer, has ambitious plans to bring this movement to the United States, being committed to converting one of the world's largest ferry fleets and being positioned to lead the charge nationally.
