It is only in the past few years that technologies such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) have started to penetrate the marine indus-try. While industries such as automotive and aerospace saw early on the potential of such technologies and found relevant applications in their products' life-cycles, more conservative industries, such as marine, have been eyeing this new field with a mix of curiosity and skepticism. Only truly innovative marine companies have dared to take the plunge.
