SWANA SAFETY

S SWANA has a strong commitment to safety and is determined to help move the waste collection industry off of the federal government's list of 10 most dangerous jobs and reduce accidents and injuries. At the start of 2016, SWANA launched several important initiatives that will help all SWANA members-U.S. and Canadian, public sector or private-reduce accidents and injuries. These initiatives include: 1. Inaugural Safety Awards, recognizing safety innovation and improvement. 2. Webinars, featuring safety tips and advice. 3. Safety resources, including best practice documents addressing the hazards posed by backing garbage trucks-also in Spanish!
