As an owner of two SHOs ('90 five-speed and '94 auto), your cover had me turning immediately to the first full article I'd seen on the new version ("Adult Entertainment," September). The performance numbers look good but are so close to our 210-horsepower 2004 Forester XT, which still has three pedals and is a quick and nimble 3200-pound, all-wheel-drive sleeper. Ford took the great American weigh, producing a bigger and heavier car than the original. Too bad the Lotus theme of reduced mass was not followed to make a sleek, aerodynamic, and affordable four-door.
