In the extreme performance realm, too much power is just right. Cadillac's CTS-V Coupe harbors 556 supercharged and intercooled horses and more than enough torque to wrinkle a solid city block of asphalt (actually, a maximum of 551 Ib-ft at 3800 rpm and more than 400 Ib-ft of twist from just above idle to the 6200-rpm redline). This overachieving V-8 can be mated to either a manual or an automatic transmission. Both have six speeds and two overdrive ratios ideal for exploring outer velocity reaches.
