Bob Lutz retires

General Motors rnvice chairman Bob Lutz has retired for the second time in 13 months, on the heels of a major GM executive shakeup, which removed Lutz favorite Bryan Nesbitt as general manager of Cadillac and returned him to the design department. Officially, Lutz retired because new models he fostered are on sale or on the way. When he unretiredrnafter the summer 2009 bankruptcy, new chairman Ed Whitacre named him vice chairman for marketing and communications, duties that were stripped when Whitacre fired Fritz Henderson last December. Lutz hasn't had much to do since.rnMeanwhile, North American President Mark Reuss has proven himself capable to lead as GM's chief car guy.
