All Corvettes at this time were 'Rays, but the '68 wasn't badged. Stingray became one word in 1969. The Stingray name was dropped in 1977. The C4 Corvette arrived too late for the 1983 model year because of a last-minute change in emissions laws, so it became a 1984. Just 43 prototype 1983 cars were built but never sold.
