I've never lived aboard a boat, although I once called my Bertram 31 home for a month. But I've wondered how big a boat I'd need to be comfortable. I could certainly exist in style aboard the new Mainship 43, a boat capable of 800 trawler-speed miles on a tank of fuel, but one that can switch personas and top 30 mph. This versatile performance is matched by versatile accommodations. When I walked through the double-door entrance, possibilities began to percolate. Mainship provides attractive furniture, but the salon's dimensions and open layout invite creativity. A couple could have great fun making it a home to suit their tastes.
