Building something new in an old style is big business in this country. Often it's intended to evoke a time when life was less complicated, but just as often it's used as a marketing device to recall past glory. Harley-Davidson (H-D) has been particularly successful at mining gold from history. While their machines are (arguably) modern, almost every model they sell looks like something you might have seen three or four decades ago. Never mind that it was their customers who created that look in the first place; they're selling every bike they can make.
