Ship Completions Up Sharply in China

With 2010 drawing towards a close, it is clear that the phenomenal growth of new ship completions by Chinese yards has been sustained this year. In fact, based on data for 2010 to date, total newbuilding deliveries from PRC-based shipbuilders, at 55.3mdwt, already top 2009's figure for the entire year (36.7 mdwt) by 18.7mdwt. This follows a year-on-year increase of 14.6 mdwt in 2009.
