June was a busy month in the Sale and Purchase market. There was an influx of new sales candidates across all sizes with particular emphasis on the Panamax and Supramax sectors. The BDI rose sharply during June, with some signs of improvement in the Capesize sector, driven by increased movements of coal and iron ore across both basins. Activity remained relatively quiet on the Capesize front, with two vessels changing hands. The "Star Fortune" (170,974dwt, bit 1999, IHI) has reportedly been sold at region US$15.3m to Chinese buyers, and the older "Bosporus" (150,973dwt, bit 1995, Sasebo) for US$9.5m.
