While this year's record exports from Brazil have dominated the headlines, far less attention has been paid to a robust performance in Argentina's grain trades, which has also boosted dry bulk carrier demand. Data from the International Grains Council (IGC) confirm Argentine corn and soya exports have performed strongly in their respective 2014/15 harvest years. However, the picture for Argentina's 2015/16 grain trades is more complex with additional uncertainty created by presidential and legislative elections taking place during October, which could see changes in economic policy.
