10/100 THE EIGHTIES

摘要

The decade of the big this and the big that, big shoulder pads, big debt, big hair, the youth of the decade were no longer able to make do and mend and consequently all wore ripped jeans! There were isms, the big ones being the politics of Thatcherism and Capitalism, greed is good and so the cult of the individual is born, "there's no such thing as society" as Margaret Thatcher famously told us. A definite change in the very fabric of our society and how we interacted with each other on a social level, an increase in technology and its effects on behaviour and of course another period of war in a far offland, "Peace in our Time" I'm still waiting.
