At long last the new rear suspension is fitted and has made a remarkable difference to the handling and ride of the car. Having suffered from a sagging rear end, I was advised to go for four-seater springs which I paired with a set of adjustable AVO dampers (other makes are available). Feeling that it was not a job to do myself, my local garage, who now look after the Mog, said that they would be able to fit the said components. I borrowed Cain's prototype spring compressor (thanks Cain!) without which the garage said they would probably have had immense difficulties as Megan is a sport model and not easy to gain access to the rear suspension because there is no access via the spare wheel "hole". However, after several hours on the ramp, Megan was returned better than new as the ride is much smoother and there is less bottoming out at the rear. Also the ride is slightly higher giving a bit more clearance over speed bumps. She still drives like a Morgan but if I drive over a penny I can only tell that I have done so and no longer know if it is heads or tails! I await the verdict of Liz next week when we head off to Mog 18 and Blenheim resulting in less noise from the passenger side of the car.
