The planned completion date for the works for the UK's pilot European Rail Traffic Management System, on the Cambrian network, is 27 October 2009. After this date it will be possible to run additional trains and/or alter the existing pattern of service. So far only an additional departure from Shrewsbury at 18.28 is mooted. All trains will continue to cross at Talerddig (bar one on the Welshpool to Fron section) so it seems unlikely that timekeeping will be much improved by the new system.
