Virgin Trains has signed a deal with Direct Rail Services (DRS) for the provision of a Class 90 locomotive for sole use on its Mk 3 'Pretendolino'set. The locomotive, which has been identified as No 90034, is being sourced by DRS from DB Schenker and is due to be repainted in DRS livery at Toton following testing after a period out of traffic. Virgin says that the locomotive will be attached to the Mk 3 set at all times, with planned work on Thursday and Fridays. At all other times the Pretendolino will be on standby and also available for Virgin Trains'growing charter business.
