NEW BUILDING AT CARDIFF CENTRAL

Network rail's modernisation programme for the Cardiff area passed another milestone in late August with the opening of a new building at the southern entrance to Cardiff Central station. This entrance has grown in importance with the opening of offices and a college south of the railway. The new facilities include a ticket office, gateline and direct access to both subways. Previously there was no direct entry from this side of the station for wheelchair passengers and others needing the subway, which has lifts to platform level.
