Joint working between Abellio Greater Anglia and Network Rail has resulted in 'in service'use of train coasting, where the track is open but overhead line electrification is not energised, and a safe area of operation is created both for the equipment being renewed and the train running line which is in use. This reduces disruption for customers by avoiding bus replacement services, reduces costs and enables quicker, more cost effective completion of infrastructure works.
