EUROSTAR'S NEW Class 374 trains are unable to serve the International platforms at Ashford station as there has been a technical hitch following Transport Secretary Chris Grayling's inauguration of the £10 million Ashford spurs project in April. The project saw the platform roads equipped with KVB (Controle de Vitesse par Balises) signalling, so that Class 374s could divert from High Speed 1 to call at Ashford. Unlike the older Class 373s, the '374s' are not equipped to operate with the UK domestic signalling system.
