DONCASTER'S IPORT OPENED BY PRINCESS ROYAL

THE IPORT Strategic Rail Freight Terminal in Doncaster was opened by the Princess Royal on 12 September. Located on a 30-acre site within the 337-acre iPort logistics hub, iPort Rail can accommodate the UK's longest trains up to six times a day, with storage capacity for 1,500TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units).The site is connected to the East Coast main line and located next to the M18 and close to Doncaster Sheffield airport. The iPort has been developed by Verdion, which is running iPort Rail as an independent operation.
