With a new 91,000-SQUARE-FOOT DC under construction, Testa Produce is on its way to becoming the first U.S. food distributor to operate in a facility certified as LEED Platinum by the U.S. Green Building Council. On 13 acres of vacant land in Chicago's StockyardsrnIndustrial Corridor, it features a 245-foot wind turbine; roof- and pole-mounted photovoltaic panels; vegetated roof and entrance wall; solar-powered water heating; skylights; rainwater collection, filtration and recycling systems; and bio-fueled delivery fleet.
