International media giant Pearson PLC owns the largest publishing company in Australia, Pearson Australia Group (PAG). PAG is using dimensioning solutions to realize significant savings in its distribution process. This year PAG will rely on its warehousing and distribution division, UBD, to pick, pack and ship more than 42 million books from its 312,000-square-foot operation in Melbourne.rn"In financial terms," explains UBD managing director Sebastian Parkes, "it's quite feasible that this dimensioning solution and our system's use of the information deliver savings of 10% or more of our distribution costs."
