Forklift operator training: Complying with OSHA's tough new rules

Extensive federal rules took effect March 1st for forklift operator training. By December 1st the rules require you to have a new program up and running to train, evaluate, and keep track of the safety performance of your company's lift truck operators and any new hires for these jobs. That program must comply fully with the new Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) powered industrial truck training regs. You can run an in-house program or have the truck manufacturer or its dealer provide training. Or use an independent training firm. Where do you get started?
