Safety features previously attainable only with a purchase of new dock equipment from the supplier are now offered as aftermarket retrofit or stand-alone equipment for any dock. The multisensory Rite-Vu Hazard Recognition System includes Approach-Vu, a drive approach visual and audible warning system; Pedestrian-Vu, an interior dock warning system; and Lok-Vu, an external camera that provides employees inside with a real-time view of vehicle restraint engagement. Inside, Pedestrian-Vu's motion-sensing technology triggers a bright blue light to project onto the dock leveler when it detects motion inside the trailer. Outside, above the dock door, the Approach-Vu sensor detects the motion of a tractor-trailer backing into a dock position, triggering a visual and audible alarm. Using one or two external camera systems, Lok-Vu provides visual verification of trailer presence and lock engagement.
