MBI Virtually Unchanged

With a reading of 39.2, the December MBI was virtually unchanged compared to November's reading of 39.6. While the good news is that the metalworking industry did not contract faster in December, the MBI remained virtually unchanged because of a significant improvement in the sup- plier deliveries subindex for reasons that are less than optimal.
