Key to the new ramping capability is the FTP insert. The geometry is modified to enable ramping while retaining the high-feed capability of the Tangmill line. It features double sides with four peripheral-ground cutting edges plus a shallow, 12.5-degree entry angle. It fits rigidly into the cutter's standard tangential seat with dovetailed clamping.
