Spatially Discrete Approximations of Problems In Damage Mechanics

The theory of elastoplasticity is re-examined with respect to some internal variables. This approach is based on discrete internal approximations of problem of Han and Reddy (1995). Our aim is to extend the theory to cover variational problem in damage mechanics (DM). We specifically consider the issues of existence and stability as applicable to damage mechanics.
