More than forty years ago, on 13 June 1977,1 purchased a so-called Light Milling Spindle from Arrand Engineering for the princely sum of £23.74 including VAT at the then rate of 8%. It has a recommended maximum speed of 4000rpm but it has never been run that fast and it has served me well at cutting the teeth of clock wheels on my Myford lathe, photo 1.
