Symbian responds on security

Symbian founder David Wood has hit out at criticisms of his operating system's levels of security. Last month, MCI and its sister website, Telecoms.com, covered a classic information-security row between Symbian and Finnish security outfit F-Secure. F-Secure claimed that Symbian wasn't doing enough to cope with a growing virus threat, and was relying on third-party anti-virus firms (notably F-Secure) to fill the holes. Symbian countered, claiming that "we've been doing the right thing for ten years" and denying that a serious threat existed. Then, Symantec and analysts Ovum piled in.
