Harnessing the power of data

When it comes to local authorities' ambitions for growth and attracting inward investment, the battle will be won, in part, by those with the best data. In the coming years, as the dust from the pandemic settles, local and regional authorities across the UK will be seeking to revitalise their economies and landscapes. Funding from central government, overseas investors and large international corporations seeking new regional bases within the UK will underpin new developments countrywide, and councils will be at pains to explain exactly why their town/city/region is the one to back. The question, then, becomes: how does a local authority prove its case in the face of so much competition? And what are the metrics by which incoming investors will choose one destination over another? 1 believe that both questions can be answered with the same response: the proverbial sacks of gold will land at the feet of those local/regional authorities who can demonstrate that their workforce is worth investing in.
