Lincolnshire CC is believed to be the first council in the country to use its reserves to provide a £12m package of support for business. The new grant scheme is particularly aimed at those that have not benefited from the Government's COVID support schemes and smaller businesses with 50 employees or fewer. Councils have warned of a 'harrowing' rise in serious child harm cases during the pandemic. New figures showed the number of serious child-related incidents reported by councils has risen by more than a quarter, with the largest increase relating to young children. Hammersmith & Fulham LBC has become the first council to publish a social value statement.
