Entries soar for Awards

The number of entries to this year's The MJ Awards has smashed all records by being the highest since they were launched 18 years ago. Analysis of entries sent into the 17 categories following the deadline at the end of last month revealed a flood of new innovative projects covering services right across the local government sector. A new category. Community Heroes, dedicated to individuals and teams who have gone far beyond their usual duties to help residents during the pandemic, had the second highest number of entries. There were big increases across all other categories, especially in services that proved vital during the height of COVID.
