Brum launches ten-post senior managment revamp

Birmingham City Council has agreed a new management model that will split the senior team into a policy and delivery structure. Under the existing structure, there are nine senior management posts reporting into the chief executive - a post currently held by interim Chris Naylor. The new ten-post model devised by Mr Naylor would create a 'council core' with policy and performance responsibilities including the chief executive, a director of city management, and a director of partnership, participation and equality. There would be two further 'purpose directors' - one for city futures and one for places, prosperity and sustainability.
