Oadby & Wigston Borough Council is passionate about local democracy and it is proud to be the champion of the committee structure both within its own Borough and nationally. The fact that every Councillor's vote is equal means that every resident has a voice in our Council Chamber. We're looking for someone who wants to play a significant role in making a real, positive difference for our community, and we're sure that person won't be looking for an easy journey. They'll see challenges as something to rise to, and problems as something to solve. They'll be looking to get involved at a level where they can really achieve, whether it's strategically or operationally, and enjoy the satisfaction of knowing they've worked hard to get results. First, the good news. We're one of the best councils for Use of Resources and Value for Money. We turn over more than ￡50 million a year, and have assets of over ￡100 million.
